Accident Reports

Debbie and her Border Collie, Falcore, were involved in a minor accident while traveling down an icy road this Valentines Day. The car began to slide out of control and hit a guard rail. Debbie was wearing her seatbelt and Falcore was buckled in securely wearing his Roadie by Ruff Rider. Both passengers were okay. Debbie's husband Len made a personal visit to our office to say "Thank you for Ruff Rider." -- Debbie, February 2001

Maggie is a 13 year old lab/golden cross. I am a veterinarian and Maggie and I have a 50 mile commute on major highways each way, every day. I feel so much better that I have a Roadie for her to wear and stay safe. Before I got the Roadie, there were a few episodes of her falling off the seat and bumping into the dash when I had to stop suddenly. We LOVE our Ruff Rider Roadie!!! Last Thursday, we were stuck in a bad traffic jam heading home. When I got up to the accident, I saw that the medics were putting together a pet carrier. I stopped to see if I could help with any pet injuries. There was a dog somebody had pulled out and put into a trucker's cab for safety. She was ok, but really shaken up. She had gotten tossed severely in the vehicle during the 70 mph impact. And there sat Maggie in her Ruff Rider Roadie in the front seat of my van looking on. I was so glad that A - it wasn't us in the accident and B - she had on her Roadie! Thank you for taking such care in making your product! -- Susan Kelleher, DVM, May 2003

In September, I was returning with my dog from a trip to the park. I was turning into my driveway when a truck that had been following too closely hit my passenger side, wrecking both passenger doors and knocking my car a few feet. Eve, my 55 Chow/Husky mix, was in the front seat, buckled into the sitting position in her Roadie. She slid a bit, but was kept safely in place by her seatbelt. Despite the low speeds, had Even not been wearing her seatbelt, she would have slid across the seat, hitting the wheel and possibly gone out of my open driver side window. I have thanked my lucky stars because I had just bought the Roadie about a month ago. My dog is my life and I cannot imagine what I would have done to the driver had she been injured. I wrote about my experience and sent it to the Roadie site. At this time, People Magazine was doing an article on the inventor and they wanted to interview me about my experience. She asked me if I recommended the Roadie to others, which of course I do, wholeheartedly. My comments were printed in the People Magazine article, November 19, 2001. -- Anna C.
